Recoiler Machine
Precision Coil Rewinding for Tight, Uniform Strip Coils

Made in India
30+ Years
Product Overview
The recoiler is the final critical component in slitting operations, responsible for producing tight, well-formed coils ready for shipment or further processing. Our recoilers feature advanced tension control systems that maintain consistent strip tension throughout the coiling process. With expanding drums, separator disc systems, and provisions for strapping, our recoilers ensure your finished coils meet the highest quality standards.

How Does a Recoiler Machine Work?
A recoiler (rewinder) is the final component in a slitting line that winds processed metal strips back into coils. The recoiler maintains proper tension throughout the winding process to produce tight, uniform coils suitable for shipment or further processing. Quality recoiling is critical for coil appearance and handling.
Strip Threading
The slit strip ends are threaded through separator discs and attached to the recoiler mandrel (expanding drum). Belt wrappers may assist initial wraps.
Drum Expansion
The mandrel segments expand hydraulically to grip the strip ends securely. This prevents strip slippage during initial winding.
Tension Application
The tension system (pneumatic/hydraulic brakes or drives) applies controlled back-tension to each strip through the separator assembly.
Coil Building
As the mandrel rotates, strips are wound into coils. Tension is maintained consistently as coil diameter increases.
Coil Completion
When the coil reaches target weight or diameter, the line stops. Coils are strapped if equipped with strapping provision.
Coil Removal
The mandrel contracts and the coil is removed—pushed off by a coil pusher, lifted by crane, or carried away by coil car.

Key Components of a Recoiler
Recoilers are precision-engineered for consistent coil quality. Each component contributes to producing tight, uniform finished coils.
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Mandrel (Expanding Drum) | Winds the strips into coils. Hydraulic expansion grips strips securely; contracts for coil removal. |
| Separator Discs | Maintain spacing between individual slit strips during winding. Adjustable for various width combinations. |
| Tension System | Applies controlled tension to strips. Pneumatic, hydraulic, or motor-driven systems available. |
| Overarm Separator | Guides strips from tension station to separator discs, maintaining proper strip path and spacing. |
| Belt Wrapper | Assists initial strip wrapping around the mandrel. Essential for thin gauge materials. |
| Coil Pusher/Stripper | Removes finished coils from the mandrel after completion. Hydraulic cylinder pushes coil off. |
| Drive System | Motor with VFD (driven recoiler) or brake system (tension recoiler) controls winding speed. |
